The Long Beach Recreation Department held it?s Continental League Men?s
softball championship this past week in a fantastic best two out of three series.
Hutch?s Pub faced Ballz Deep in a great matchup featuring the top two teams in
the division. In the first game Ballz Deep was down 4-2 going into the last inning and the game seemed to be over. All of a sudden Dave ?Pick ? Em?s? Defillipo picked on everybody, and spurred his team on to score four runs and take the game 6-4. Captains Ronnie Grohs and Charles ?Moose? Gusler were instantly elated as they were in reach for their first championship in 20 years.
In the second game Ballz Deep scored 15 runs through the first four innings, and cruised to a 19-12 victory, and the championship. Hutch?s Pub played great throughout the year, and are to be congratulated on an outstanding season. Big props go out to MVP Patrick ?Pitt? Ryan on a fabulous year of pitching and leading Ballz Deep to the championship, and not having one argument.
Yeah right!
