Branding: Reflection of Company Character and Personality

How important is a brand or branding to your business? ?When it comes to analyzing whether or not to develop a branding strategy, you have to accept that a strong brand is your front line offense in building a customer base. If you are just starting a business, a corporate or product branding may be what you need. ?Appropriate time for research, effort and money to develop them for your target market aware of should be instituted. Slowly and gradually, the brand is instilled into the hearts and minds of your customers favorably or unfavorably. ?So to the question as to whether a brand or branding is important to your business, the answer has to be an astounding ?yes?. It is a foundational feature in building up the success of your business. ?Your business personality, character and integrity will be communicated thru the brand or brands.

Take the case of Mcdonalds, Apple or Fedex. When you hear these brands, you know right away what they represent. Mcdonalds for burgers, Apple for computers and ipods and Fedex for courier service. ?These brands are exposed day in and day out. ? They have been promoted well and are known all over the planet. ?All of them are powerful brands and they stand out when it comes to brand awareness. They have what is termed as emotional resonance. You know what to expect from them and they are always consistent.

So if you want to build your brand, you have to figure out whether you need an expert on brand strategy to tie up as a consultant. If your top management supports you on this, select the guy who can show you proofs of success. He must be a team player who is creative, energetic and easy to get along with. He can present you a brand strategy program with a media plan and a reasonable budget. ?Clear short term, medium term and long term goals should be laid up in that brand strategy plan. Brand building starts with creation of awareness and distinction of why your company, products or services deserve the target market?s attention. You need to focus on what characteristics, features; qualities are unique which you hope your target market and customers will be attracted to. If your customers fall in love with your brand, products and services, you have to sustain and know how to maintain that emotional feeling and expectations. How to make the brand always stand out should be your top agenda!
